Woman calls for action after increase in car accidents in Milton Keynes

Eleanor Armes, 32, suffered injures to her right hip, elbow, knee, wrist and ankle as well as a suspected fracture to the sternum.

The mother-of-one lives in Wolverton and has highlighted her concerns regarding the frequent number of reported collisions in our area.

She said: “Accidents not only cause emotional and physical damage, they are also time consuming with all the paperwork and phone calls.

“Re-living the crash for everyone is difficult, not to mention the cost to the NHS if these accidents could be prevented.

“Those first seconds after the impact were possibly the loneliest moments I have ever had in my life.”

Eleanor was travelling at 50mph on the H2 in rush hour on July 5 where a car pulled out on her at the junction near MK museum.

Eleanor hopes her petition will encourage Highways England to change the roads in MK.

She explained: “I feel an overwhelming need to fight to reduce the speed limits around Milton Keynes.

“I also hope that more traffic lights are installed and no right turns put in place alongside speed restrictions.

“I don’t want what happened to me to happen to anyone else - these accidents are so preventable.”
