Woman left immobile after robbery

A 46-YEAR-OLD woman was robbed while she was out on her mobility scooter on Saturday.

Around 9.15pm, the woman was travelling along the Redway on her mobility scooter on a section which runs parallel between Lloyds and Robins Hill in the Coffee Hall area travelling towards Redmoor.

She turned and saw a man behind her and he put his hand over the victim’s mouth and demanded: “What you got for me?” She told him she didn’t have anything but he searched the rear carry area of the scooter, stealing the battery charger and a black jersey material cardigan jacket with duffle coat style toggles.

As the offender was looking at the battery pack, the victim drove away onto Daniels Welch, where she was eventually helped by a member of the public.

The only description of the offender is that he is white, possibly fairly young and with a local accent.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the offence, which has left the victim effectively immobile as she no longer has a charger for her mobility scooter.
