A woman was left in a critical condition after a car crashed into a lorry parked in a lay-by on the A5 near Caldecote.
Emergency services, including the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance, were called to the scene at around 7.10am on Thursday, on the A5 northbound, when ‘a grey coloured Renault Megane was involved in a collision with an articulated lorry in a lay-by.’
A 52-year-old woman from Great Holm suffered serious injuries and was air-lifted to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have seen the Megane prior to the collision.
Anyone with any information about this incident should contact PC Paul Taylor in the Milton Keynes Roads Policing Department via 101.
The A5 was closed to traffic while the emergency services dealt with the accident, causing significant delays throughout the city as commuters found alternative routes, but was reopened later in the morning.
