A WOMAN was sexually assaulted when she fell asleep after getting a lift back to her hotel following Swedish House Mafia’s concert on Saturday.

After the gig at the National Bowl ended, the 23-year-old victim was waiting for a taxi and was offered a lift to Xscape by two women.

But after being dropped off, she waited about an hour for a taxi when a car pulled up offering to take her to her hotel in Luton. She fell asleep and woke up to find the car had been parked and she was being sexually assaulted by the driver.

She managed to stop the assault and the driver drove on but was stopped soon after by roads policing officers for having his fog lights on. The victim then disclosed the sexual assault.

Officers arrested a 37-year-old man from Milton Keynes in connection with the incident and he has been bailed until Wednesday September 5.

PC Tracey Pool, investigating officer, said: “We are very keen to speak to the two women who gave the victim a lift to the Xscape taxi rank.

“We would urge anyone, particularly women on their own late at night, to be extremely careful that they only get into licensed taxis.”

The incident comes after three people were stabbed and another three were arrested for selling class A drugs at the concert at the National Bowl.
