Yodel '˜sorry' for lobbing parcel onto Milton Keynes balcony

A delivery company has said sorry after a worker lobbed a parcel onto the balcony of an MK home '“ having dropped it in previous attempts.

The driver was delivering a parcel to Grant Baxter’s MK home on November 30, and was caught on CCTV hurling the package repeatedly.

Grant, who discovered the package on his balcony later on in the day, has since posted the CCTV video online, and complained to Yodel.

A Yodel spokesman said: “While the driver was clearly determined to ensure that Mr Baxter received his order, the safe delivery of parcels is our absolute priority.

“We have requested further information to help us confirm if this was one of our deliveries, and if so, we would like to apologise to Mr Baxter for this incident.

“Our drivers are advised to reattempt delivery on another day if nobody is available and there is no suitable safe location in which to leave it.

“The behaviour shown in the video does not meet our standards and if found to be a Yodel delivery we will be taking appropriate action.”

And a spokesman for John Lewis added: “Clearly this is unacceptable. We have apologised and have sent a replacement package.

“We are also discussing this with Yodel who aren’t a regular delivery company for John Lewis.”
