A yoga teacher and sound therapist who runs classes in Stony Stratford is leading a special Yoga Journey to Bhutan in November, to help victims of the Nepal earthquake.

The journey gives participants the chance to practise yoga in stunning surroundings while helping to raise funds for the charity First Steps Himalaya, working in earthquake-stricken rural Nepal.

Kanti Freeman, who teaches at a venues including Stony’s Whitespace Yoga & Wellbeing Studio is thrilled to be combining her love of yoga with her passion for the Himalayas, while supporting a grassroots charity.

First Steps Himalaya was set up by a British/Nepali couple who wanted to make a difference to the children of Nepal. They work in 22 rural communities providing improved early childhood and primary education.

The project area was completely devastated by the recent earthquakes and the trust now has the monumental task of rebuilding damaged schools.

Kanti became involved when she raised funds to support the rebuild of a school following the earthquakes.

She said: “The opportunity to teach yoga in such a beautiful and spiritual place with a group of people with the same intentions will be deeply enriching and fulfils a lifelong dream.”

First Steps Himalaya runs a range of exciting journeys to help fund its work. For more information, see www.greatadventures-nepal.com
