STAFF of a leading city charity are riding even higher after securing sponsorship for its grand ball.
The event, to be hosted by BBC presenter Jeremy Vine, has won the backing of accountancy firm MacIntyre Hudson which is sponsoring the event.
The event, the highlight of Milton Keynes’ autumn calendar, is to be held at stadium:mk on Friday, September 23.
Rachel Medill, chairman of Ride High, said: “I am delighted that MacIntyre Hudson will be sponsoring the ball. We are particularly pleased to be supported by a company that has a major presence in Milton Keynes and one that has particular expertise in charity support since its merger with Gotham Erskine
“We currently provide services to 70 of Milton Keynes’ most desperate children and next year we would like to increase that number to 100. Without the funds from this major event this just will not be possible so we are thrilled to welcome MacIntyre Hudson as sponsors alongside the MK Citizen.”
The charity will be aiming to raise as much money as possible for the good work it does helping improve the prospects of some of the city’s most disadvantaged children.
Senior partner at MacIntyre Hudson, Gary Ives, said: “Rachel and her team do a fantastic job with disadvantaged children which is increasingly important these days.”
Around 450 guests, including Milton Keynes mayor Councillor Alan Richards, will attend the black tie event which will include dinner, a casino, and dancing to The Foundations – who had a famous hit with Build Me Up Buttercup.
There will also be an auction and prize draw including a private preview of Chelsea Flower Show 2012 for two people, lunch with Jeremy Vine and a chance to see the Jeremy Vine Show go out live. Other prizes will include the chance to drive an Audi R8 for the weekend, a Terry Wogan teddy – a complete exclusiveTeddy with a voice message specially recorded for the occasion by Terry Wogan.
Guests will also have the opportunity to have a horse race named after them, a partner or a friend including hospitality, a Katie Price Jacket signed and personalised for the winner by Katie Price and a day for two at Silverstone classic car rally 2012 including full hospitality.
