Leading charity Macmillan Cancer Support is urging everyone across Buckinghamshire to help it raise a record-breaking £8.5m – by enjoying coffee and cake.
The charity needs 43 more people to take part in this year’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning at the end of September to make it the biggest ever in the event’s 21-year history.
Macmillan’s fundraising manager in Buckinghamshire, Sandra Dibling said: “This is a fantastic event for everyone to get involved in because it’s so simple.
“We’re really grateful to all those that have already signed up but we desperately require more to get involved if we are to raise the money Macmillan need.
“The official date is 30th September but if you can’t do that date then just pick another day, if you’re not keen on coffee and would rather have cocktails or even herbal tea then that’s fine as well.”
Macmillan hope to raise £120,000 from the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in Buckinghamshire and are expecting 766 people to take part in the event.
And those who want to support Macmillan ahead of time can do visiting their nearest M&S Café.
The firms are supporting Macmillan throughout August and September by running special promotions on nine coffee morning treats, and selling a rose pin badge.
The cafés are also selling Macmillan’s Little Book of Treats for £3 – a great buy for those looking for inspiration for their coffee morning.
