YourMK, the company formed this year as a partnership of Milton Keynes Council and Mears Group, have launched their own partnership with the Milton Keynes Food Bank.
The organisations decided to work together as they share the similar values and ambitions for the city and its residents.
Nine YourMK staff have spent two days volunteering their time with MK Food Bank.
Staff spent their time organising donations of food and also accompanying Food Bank dedicated volunteers to serving stations.
More days are planned for the New Year.
David Gleeson, managing director of YourMK spent a day with the charity last week.
He said: “We all know that in today’s society a foodbank should be a last resort. “At YourMK we want to support this vital service, while doing all we can through regeneration to address the issues that result in our residents needing that support in the first place.”
John Marshall, Project Manager at MK Foodbank added: “We are very pleased to be working with YourMK. Both organisations want the best for people in Milton Keynes – our partnership will add value to everything we both do”.
