Car crazy Zakaria Fadel has been invited to review vehicles for car giant VW – even though he’s just SEVEN years old.

Zakaria, who is autistic, bombarded Volkswagen with email requests to test drive a new car and was delighted when sales executive Scott Simpson – unaware of the Zakaria’s age called to confirm the booking.

His mum, Dalila, said: “I was a bit surprised that someone would ring my son and I explained that Zak is only seven and asked Scott why he wanted to speak to him.

“He then said my son had booked a test drive via email.”

After offering her apologies Dalila was then shocked when Scott offered Zakaria the chance to visit the VW showroom in Kingston.

Dalila added: “Zak was over the moon.

“When we arrived Scott came to greet us and to our surprise the managers were also there to meet him, he was treated like a VIP.

“One of the managers, Mark, invited him to sit inside a car and showed him around and answered all his questions.

Zak had his camera with him and took plenty of pictures which he shared with his teachers at Shepherdswell Academy. To Scott, Mark and Daniel and to all the team at Volkswagen a big thank you for making Zakaria feel very special.” Zakaria was given a remote controlled car, sandwich box and a keyring before he left and has now been invited to write a series of reviews, starting this week.

Scott said: “We wanted to make the day as nice as possible. “In my line of work time is money but this was a great way for me to spend my time.

If we can give an hour of our time to make a young lad’s day then that’s all that matters to us.”

The team has now arranged for Zakaria to be involved in the review process of its vehicles.
