MK’s UK Youth Parliament members spent a day representing the city in Westminster.
Amber Saunders, 17, who represents MK North, and Ellie Flint, 17, who represents MK South, took part in the House of Commons debate about NHS cuts, education, racism and religious discrimination.
The issues were all chosen by young people who took part in the ‘Make Your Mark’ vote earlier in the year. Amber and Ellie have also joined forces with MK South MP Iain Stewart to remind young people that there is still time to stand in the elections for the MK Youth Cabinet, as well as UK Youth Parliament when they stand down in February 2017.
Anyone aged 11-18 who lives in MK can put themselves forward for election. Nominations close on Friday, November 25.
Iain said: “I have had the pleasure of working with the Youth Cabinet and UK Youth Parliament members on a number of occasions and I have been extremely impressed with the work they do locally.”
