Biffy Clyro are going on tour - here’s how to get tickets

In September, Scottish alt-rockers Biff Clyro will set out on their first major UK arena tour since 2016.

Before that, they also have a new album coming out, A Celebration of Endings, which is set to drop in May.

Fans who pre-order the new record will have the chance to grab a ticket before anyone else too.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new tour.

When is the tour?

The Kilmarnock alt-rockers will kick off their tour in Aberdeen on Friday 25 September 2020 at the P&J Arena.

They will then hit a host of big venues across Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Wales, finishing up at Bournemouth’s International Centre on Sunday 11 October.

The full list of confirmed dates is as follows:Friday 25 September – P&J Arena, AberdeenSaturday 26 September – SSE Hydro, GlasgowSunday 27 September – Motorpoint Arena, NottinghamTuesday 29 September – Utilita Arena, NewcastleWednesday 30 September – Utilita Arena, BirminghamThursday 1 October – The O2, LondonSaturday 3 October, Manchester Arena, ManchesterSunday 4 October – First Direct Arena, LeedsTuesday 6 October – SSE Arena, BelfastFriday 9 October – Motorpoint Arena, CardiffSunday 11 October – International Centre, Bournemouth

Once the UK tour is wrapped up, the band already have plans to hop over to Europe for a series of shows across the continent, and then to head onwards to Australia.

How can I get tickets?

Tickets for the tour will go on sale at 10am on Friday 20 March 2020 and will be available via Live Nation

However, presale tickets will be available for those who pre-order the new album from the official Biffy Clyro site before 4pm on Monday 16 March. The presale will begin at 10am on Wednesday 18 March and runs until the general sale begins.

What songs will they play?

As the new tour is being built around the upcoming album, it’s safe to assume that the 2020 shows will feature a heavy dose of fresh Biffy material.

However, fans that have been following the band for years shouldn’t fret – it’d be no surprise if perennial favourites like Many of Horror, Bubbles and Black Chandelier.

When is the new album out?

The band’s eighth studio album, A Celebration of Endings, will be released on Friday 15 May 2020.

Two very different tracks, Instant History and End Of, have already been released from the upcoming album, and both have been met with critical acclaim.

Their two most recent albums, Opposites (2013) and Ellipsis (2016), went straight to number one in the album charts, so big things are expected from the new record.

With Ellipsis’ producer Rich Costey back on board for the new record, expectations are especially high.

Frontman Simon Neil has described the new record as “a very forward-looking album from a personal perspective and a societal perspective” so, while fans can expect more of the sound they already love, the album will likely also push the band into unexplored territory.
