Crowning glory in the league of most Instagrammable royal residences

The Queen of England is currently shielding from the threat of coronavirus by staying in the smaller residences of Balmoral and Windsor Castle, rather than Buckingham Palace.

Traditionally, she stays in Scotland until October and then returns to Buckingham Palace for the winter. But this year, she will spend the colder months at Windsor Castle and it's not known when, or even, if she will return to the palace.

Cousin's home

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh may be top of the royal chain but the same cannot be said for their Instagram status. They should have stayed put in Buckingham Palace as that comes in with a whopping 1.2 million hashtags!

Queen's son

Prince Charles and wife Camilla's residence, Clarence House, makes it into fifth place in the league with 26,000 hashtags.

Bottom of the table with just 185 hashtags is Bagshot Park, home to Prince Edward, his wife Sophie and their two children.

The data represents live Instagram figures collected on September 17, 2020.
