Hayden Hair Studio prides itself on offering all clients a warm, friendly welcome in a relaxed atmosphere.

Gemma McCann opened Hayden’s, in Fenny Stratford, Milton Keynes, in 2021, but has built up a loyal following since 2008 when she started as a mobile hairdresser.

“I want people to feel at home,” said 38-year-old Gemma. “We greet people straight away when they come through the door. We like having a diverse range of people in the salon. If a woman wants to have a clipper cut with our gender-neutral pricing she can. We have quite a few trans clients come to us too.”

Gemma said the clients are of all ages, types and tastes and this eclectic mix is reflected in the diverse skills of the staff.

And it’s not just haircuts, hair extensions, conditioning treatments and brow and lash beauty services are available too – there’s even a training academy.

Meet the team

Gemma works with two other stylists and all experienced professionals, whilst each has their own speciality.

Gemma is the go-to for brunettes, chocolate browns, caramels, brondes and golds. She will help your auburn warmth shine through.

The most senior in years, Nikki, is queen of classic platinum/icy blonde colouring, balayage and highlights. She’s also first choice for ‘old school’ cuts and perms.

Stacey, the same age as Gemma, qualified as a hairdresser five years ago. This super-friendly, fun stylist loves to cover greys and is brilliant at a bob cut.

“We’ve seen people whose hair is in terrible condition because someone has done what they’ve asked for, but not what was suitable,” she said. “We will be honest with people and not do anything to compromise the integrity of their hair.”
