Kickboxer Andy Rudol returned from the Unified World Kickboxing Championships in Italy with a gold medal around his neck.

The Crownhill man, who trains at Pegasus Gym in Aylesbury, took on competitors from all over the world, reaching the final on Sunday night.

And defeating a Polish fighter in the final, he ensured he’d leave Tuscany with gold.

“It was an incredible experience if mentally and physically very draining,” he said.

“I have been involved in martial arts for 25 years and although I have won several national titles this is my first success at world level, naturally I am delighted!”
