Canal & River Trust electro-fishing specialists have started removing as many zander as possible from the local cut – work part-funded by £2,500 donated by clubs and individuals.

Claire Connor caught a 26lb PB common from Furzton. Ashley Holland had a 12lb Grand Union carp. Fishing Newport’s pits James Scobbie had an 18lb mirror (looks like an ‘original’) and Ade Watson perch to 2lb.
