Want a carp pushing the 30 mark? Then you could do worse than getting yourself down to Olney's Ouse.

Dan Bull did just that Sunday evening and banked a river-grown 26-6 common – weighed on club scales and just six ounces short of the club record caught 11 years ago.

"It was an incredible fish, streamlined and solid muscle," said Dave Partridge who saw the capture and did the official weighing.

CARP have been showing on local lakes, too. Kieran Dickens had a 30-4 from Heron, reported through Waters Edge. Michael Majcher caught seven to 27lb from Furzton while, on Lodge, Pete Chambers netted a 20 and Steve Lindop continued his run with fish to 17lb.

KINGFISHER's final carp match of the season saw Neil Richardson walk it on Black Horse with 96-5 with bro Lee – winner of the club's 2017 series – way adrift on 25-6. Mircea Peredercu made third with 11-2.

ALDERS' midweeker fell to Pete Archer, 213lb, ahead of Charlie Lancaster 186lb and Alan Donnely 185lb.

OSPREY's Pidley trip saw Steve Carthy take the money with 147lb. Chris Lovelock made 114lb and Stewart Welch 60-15.

MK Vets, Tear Drops: Bob Gale 28-3, Kevin Osborne 15-4. Austin Maddock 13-8.

TOWCESTER Vets, Mill Cotton: Les Wallace 20lb, Rob Rawlins 19-10, Grenville Read 12-4.

DATS, Stony Main (perch to 2-8): Don King 17lb, Steve Chilton 8-12, Paul Chapman 7-12.

CALVERT, Claydon Lake: Ben Holdaway 14-5, Dave Lewis 6-11, Barry Witteridge 3-4.

SMALL roach and rudd made up most weights in Towcester's Astwell Mill match: Bob Eales 10-9-12, John Broughton 9-3-8, Chris Howard 7-1.

SILVERS ruled Olney's midweek open: Neil Shearn 8-5 (mostly bleak), Pete Hawley 7-8-8, Bob Gill 6-8-8. Gordon Prince won Saturday's Spooner Cup sweep with 4-4, Barry Glidewell 3-2, Pete Hawley 1-12.

MK individual league final round, Bradwell Ouse: Kevin Osborne, 5-2 roach and dace, Paul Hamilton 4-7 (league winner) 4-7, Bob Gale 4-3.

GOOD news: the cut at Stoke Bruerne – 'swept' for zander two years running – is coming alive with small roach and they dominated Saturday's CRT/AT pairs eliminator with the 105 fish 7-8-8 top weight including 95 redfins.

BAD news: at least 400 good-sized fish have died on Luton's Church Lock section at Leighton, near where dredging and spoil dumping is being carried out. CRT and the EA are investigating.

FIXTURES: Sunday, Sherington Bridge Ouse open 07795 068428; Oct 15 Towcester open (Castlethorpe cut) 01908 563617; Tues Oct 17 Olney Ouse open 01234 240061.
