MILTON Keynes Rowing Club continued their winning streak with three crews bringing home the prestigious ‘Quart’ tankards at the last ever Bedford Quarts Regatta last weekend.
MK scullers, Mike Funge, Josh Vinden, Nelson Tanner and Tom Rivett beat off a strong Medway crew in a close final with less than a second between them at the finish line.
Once again the ladies fours made up of Charlene Mills, Jo Heywood, Lindy Gray and Paula Heywood, coxed by Benn Klewpatinond, showed the crowds who lined the embankment that MK really did mean business as also took gold in their final, beating St Neots.
The MK Juniors also entered a record number of crews in a regatta this year and hard training really looks like it has paid off. John Smith and Ryan Engledow worked hard beat off strong competition from the London based Poplar, Blackwall and District Rowing Club to win their event in the doubles to earn them the crown and to cap off an impressive regatta for the whole club.
MK Rowing Club have a few places remaining on their next Learn to Row Course which starts in August.
