MILTON Keynes Gymnastics club hosted one of the largest events seen at the Kingston centre in recent years when youngsters from the age of two up to 16 turned out for their In-House competition.
It was also a special occasion for the club as it was the first time the centre’s pre-school children took part and they had a fabulous time.
The centre hosts a whole range of classes ranging from babies and toddlers, through to adult classes. The club also have an extremely successful elite squad, including two regional champions and a British silver medallist in their ranks.
MK Gymnastics is a charity and relies greatly on competitions like this to raise money for new equipment, with MK Dons, Red Hot Buffet and Tea Monkey among those to help out through sponsorship.
A total of 260 children were competing on the day, in front of nearly 600 parents. Among them were 40 volunteer coaches who also gave up their Sundays to help out, making sure the children had an amazing time.
General manager Julie Doyle said: “It was a truly amazing day with a fantastic atmosphere. It’s just so nice to see all our children enjoying themselves in this great gym. We can’t wait to do it all again next year.”
