THREE members of a Milton Keynes Karate Club have had a week to remember after winning medals in a national competition.
Morgan Smith, Charlie Bill and Ronnie Featherstone all competed for the local MK ECKA (English Contact Karate Association) club and took part in the 2011 Semi-Contact National Championships in Coventry.
Morgan was the big winner as the 12-year-old became the new national champion after winning his boys under 5ft 6in section, and will hope to make it a double success in November when he’s back in national action.
Charlie, 16, achieved a fine 2nd place in the boys’ cadets section and it was 3rd place for six year-old Ronnie in the boys’ under 4ft 4in category.
The trio’s success marks a great achievement for the MK club that’s been established since 1984, and as well as the honour of winning medals, the three also earned a great deal of valuable experience.
Sensei Mark Featherstone says he expects their progress to continue and more medals to follow in November.
