WITH the World BMX Championships in Birmingham now just a month away, Izzy Ferrada has put a marker down to the rest of the world.
Racing in Rounds Four and Five of the National BMX Series at Perry Park, the 16-year-old held off the challenge of the top UK 15/16 female riders to win both rounds.
Those good results extend her lead in the Series, having now won three of the five founds so far.
“I’m really happy with these wins. It really boosts my confidence with the World Championships just around the corner,” said Izzy.
“The best racers in the world will be there – so it’s going to be tough – but I hope home advantage could give me the edge.”
Before then, Izzy will be competing in Round Two of the Regional Series at the city’s own Pineham BMX track on May 13.
