Marathon man Jim McKellar is preparing for a summer of triathlons to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The 77-year-old will take on the Grendon Lake Triathlon on May 26 before three others over the summer months.
“After years of running in over 100 marathons and ultra marathons, I decided to take up a new challenge of taking part in a triathlon,” he said.
“The reason I am running for Macmillan is because I now face the biggest challenge yet after my lovely wife Lillian was diagnosed at the start of 2013 with Myeloma cancer. Now we are both fighting cancer at 77 years of age.
“With the support and love of my family I am managing to look after Lily and train.”
