Twenty one Orbit Trampoline Club members made the trip to Abingdon for the Regional Grading event to test themselves against other clubs from the south.

Rebecca Dormer took part in her first competition at U13 girls G level along with Jayde Latimer and Ella Jefferson, and they finished in 12th, 6th and 16th place respectively to claim the 1st team place.

In the O15 girls G grade, Kathryn Marsh was 10th and younger sister Rachel took the same place in the U11s competition.

Georgia Makel finished 3rd in U15 F girls to qualify up to E level, while in the U13 F girls, Amy Smith did well to recover from a fall and return in 15th, as Daniella Toomey was 10th.

Orbit’s O15 girls earned 1st team place, led by 1st placed Lydia Russell, Katy Smith 5th and Lucy Pangbourne 10th as all three progressed to E grade.

Anya Butler jumped well in the U13 E grade but missed out on a podium place by two tenths, while for the U15s it was 10th and 11th for Lauren Muttitt and Lauren McEvaddy.

Ritchie Clarke didn’t gain promotion, but finished 2nd in the boys competition.

At O15 girls. Amy Hewitson did well with her compulsory routine but failed to complete a voluntary, but there was no stopping Helena Bloomfield (pictured) who finished in 2nd place but narrowly missed out on promotion.

Ciara O’Brien produced a couple of very good routines at Grade D and a score of 49.5 was enough for promotion up to national C. However, under the competition rules she also needed to be in the top 20 per cent or 3rd – and only tenths separated the first six girls.
