Gymnasts from MK Springers reached new heights when they competed at the South East Open Championships in Crawley.
The Springers junior team of Louisa Bailey, Lucy Handford, Alice Gunthorpe, Erin Lane, Paige Johnson, Isobel Wilson, Yasmin Loveland, Eleanor Fletcher, Laura Sythes, Hasha Mundle-Simpkin, took part in the regional section and they all performed outstandingly well on the day.
They were thrilled to earn a national qualifying score of 40.1 points – enough to pick up the silver medal for their fine efforts.
McKenzie Connor, Abigail Moore and Nadine Spencer, who entered into the county level primary team event for the first time, did a fantastic job on both their tumble and trampette runs to secure a second silver medal for the Springers.
The club’s second primary team of Freya Pearce, Chiara Primanato, Rebeka Allsopp, Chiara Primanato and Irana Hayward competed first thing in the morning of the second day of the competition.
Although one member was injured during warm-up, the team did themselves proud by staying strong and performing to the best of their abilities.
They competed against 15 other teams and came a very good 5th overall.
All of the Springers girls had a fabulous competition and their coaches are all very proud.
