Mixed results in cross country

A small group of younger Marshall Milton Keynes Athletic Club members competed in Slough at the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Cross Country Championships.

The best team result coming for the Under 15 Boys as they finished 6th while the Under 15 Girls were 9th.

The best individual performance was by the club’s only U17 Man Owen Seamark who finished 11th in 20m 50s with the next best being 12th Ewan Forsythe (M15) taking 14m 16s.

The other U15 team competitors were Jake Cox in 21st place (14m 57s), 23rdHarvey Green (15m 08s), 26th Aaron Wootton (15m 31s) and 28thTom Sharp (15m 55s).

Leading the U15 Girls home was 29th Amber Harman (15m 23s) with 32nd Rosie Merrin (15m 40s) and 43rd Libby Herdman-Smith (16m 26s).

Unfortunately the U17 Women had an incomplete team but there were good runs by Sophie Botham (25m 13s) in 17th and Natalie Nurse (26m 50s) who came home in 24th place.

Closer to home at the Milton Keynes Mo Run, Sam Winters came home 1st in (35m 17s) with 8th Caspar Zoeftig (41m 50s), 102ndMel Wright (51m 15s) and 112th Peter Tye (M40) (52m 39s).

While at the St Neots Half Marathon Chris Cahill (M45) was 138thtaking 92m 01s.

With a superb star at the first of the season’s Indoor meetings Liam Smith won the London University 3000m title with a fine 9m 33.46s.

He was also third in the 1500m recording 4m 33.39s.
