New girl making ripples

Nadine Lewycky only joined MMKAC last autumn but has already produced a number of fine performances both on road and cross-country.

Recently she ran a time of 2hours08.33 at the Bramley 20miler which is the second fastest ever by a local runner.

In the Berkhamsted Half-Marathon Nadine finished 12th from a field of 1010 with a time of 81.55, the 6th fastest on the club ladies rankings.

Road specialist Mark Ryall sped to third in this race with a time of 75.35 whilst Jeremy Vick made the top 20 with 83.52 and Kelvin Smith placed third M65 with 102.07

Three runners contested the Coventry Half Marathon where Neil Jones recorded 88.47, 197th from the huge field of over 3500.

Geoff New clocked 95.51 and Julie Jones 99.23. Nearer home, Jeremy Vick placed 8th in the Winslow 10km(36.55) and Diane Baldwin was 1st W55 with her time of 44.37, 67th from a field of 283.

Seven youngsters competed at Sheffield in the England Athletics U15/17/20 indoor Championships.

Ebony Carr made the final of the U17 60m winning her heat with 7.76, placing 3rd in the semi (7.73) and then 7th in the final(7.75).

There were 4th places in the heats for Rachel Oderinde(8.14), Casey Hodges(8.09) and Jordan Heron(8.29).

Ebony made the semi-finals of the 200m, winning her heat in 25.35 but a PB of 24.95 in the semis was not enough for make the final, Jordan Heron placed 4th with 26.79.

In the Under 20 60m Elysia Marriott placed 5th in her heat(8.01) whilst Joshua Boakye clocked 7.45 for 7th position in his heat.

Finally Laura Zialor, certainly a potential medallist, failed to get a valid jump in the U20 triple jump.
