Wendy Webber celebrated her birthday in winning fashion as she won the annual Leighton Buzzard 10 mile race around Stockwood Park.
Wendy, who was one of 17 MMKAC athletes taking part, won the race in a time of 64.44, a little over a minute ahead of her personal best set earlier this year in Maidenhead.
And to make it a real family affair, brother Dan finished fifth overall in the men’s race, in a time of 58.57, which was enough to secure the M40 prize.
The results for Wendy and Dan saw them both crowned Buckinghamshire champions.
The team race for clubs with eight runners or more was won by MMKAC with their final scorer, Kelvin Smith closing in 68th. Along with Dan and Wendy, Carl Tucker placed 10th(63.12), Andrew Wasdell 16th(64.31), Neil Jones 35th(70.29), Russell Jones 39th(71.07), Julie Jones 65th(76.04) before Kelvin finished in 76.21. In the veteran categories Andrew placed 3rd M40. Julie 2nd F45 and Kelvin 2nd M60.
