Youngsters making history for MMKAC

The MMKAC under 13/15 team made club history by reaching the Youth Development League National Final held at Bedford.

They did themselves proud competing against some of the biggest clubs in the UK as far as apart as London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Cardiff to finally finish 7th on the day.

For the under 13 boys good points were attained in the 75m hurdles, Edward Barber was 3rd “A” string (12.90) whilst Kobe Sinclair-Linton won the “B” in 12.78. Edward placed 2nd in the long jump (4.57m) and 3rd in the high jump (1.35m). Phillip Isaiah set a PB in the shot (8.99m) for second place.

Two second positions were gained in he 800m from Callum Tripp (2.25.43) and Elias Skaarup (2.32.87). Sonja De Koning put in a strong performance in the under 13 girls 1200m setting a PB of 3.51.60 for second place to the National cross-country champion from Manchester.

Ayesha Jones threw the javelin 28.71m for 2nd place. “B” string wins came from Victorious Ezeh in the high jump(1.30m) and Elizabeth Tchuimeni in the shot throwing 7.43m.

Best results for the under 15 boys came in the long jump where two second places went to Shawn Ampofo(6.02m) and Jordan Rhys Thomas (5.26m). Third places to Chad Wilson, 100m (12.23), Tim Penley. Javelin (36.56m) and Ayoyinka Adellowo, hammer (23.54m).

There was a very strong under 15 girls team - Lara Moffat won her speciality, the hammer (44.88m) and took thirds in the shot (10.03m) and discus (24.20m). Eva Durand won the javelin (35.47m).

On the track Moyin Oduyemi was second in both sprints (12.46/25.95) whilst over 300m, Charlotte Underwood took third in 44.11. Lateefah Agberemi ran to second in the “B” 75m hurdles (12.24) and threw the shot 8.34, for third.
