MK Knights took victories home and away over the weekend.
Friday saw them meet the Castleford Kings at Scunthorpe, and despite being reduced to three riders grabbed a well deserved win against the much fancied Kings 19-16.
Sunday brought the Long Eaton Invaders to the MK Knights adopted home at Mildenhall Speedway.
Knights raced into an early lead with two 5-1’s in the first two heats.
Heat 3 saw skipper Jez Pestell pass both Long Eaton riders to go from third to first in half a lap with Niall Strudwick challenging hard to the end giving the meeting its first drawn heat 3-3.
Sam Chapman and Danno Verge got the MK Knights back to winning ways with Sam first and Danno just being pipped for second on the line by the Long Eaton Number 1 Lee Geary.
Heat 5 saw Danno Verge winning by the length of a straight with the determined Niall Strudwick just failing to grab third place.
Heat 6 brought out Jez Pestell red helmet) and Sam Chapman (blue helmet)to bring home another 5-1 securing a 25-11 Knights win.
The win consolidated the MK Knights place at the top of the Midland Development League stretching their lead over their nearest rivals to six points.
