MEET the latest crop of the city’s youngsters to make their mark on the national badminton scene.
The nine talented Team Forza players were competing in the prestigious English National Junior Championships held over two weekends.
The event attracted hundreds of top players from up and down the country in pursuit of national glory, but it was the city-based team which stole the show by winning a total of 13 medals. And it could even had been more had some players not been forced to pull out.
Forza coach Ross Reid couldn’t hide his delight, saying: “I would like to thank our team of players and coaches for an exceptional amount of dedication and hard work that went into what is an outstanding achievement.
“Some of our best players were unwell and could not take part themselves, but their time will come next year.
“We’re delighted for all of the parents, players and coaches who have worked so tirelessly to make this season a big success.
“A special thanks goes out to the staff and management of David Lloyd Leisure in MK whose professionalism continues to help us produce the most talent junior players in English badminton.”
