Four members of Bletchley Ladies rugby team starred at the Kabaddi World Cup.

Charlotte Gallop, Rachael Appleby, Kirsty Kay and Jen Harris were part of the England team competing in the Punjab region on their way to fifth place in the tournament.

England lost to eventual runners-up New Zealand, and then lost by a single point to Pakistan, after a few questionable refereeing decisions against them.

In their final game though, England picked up a brilliant 38-27 victory against Mexico with Kirsty Kay named the star raider.

Speaking after the tournament, Charlotte Gallop said: “In 2015 some of the ladies team hope to be part of the kabaddi pro league.

“We hope to train alongside the England mens team who finished a well deserved fourth this year.”
