Bob is on fire as he bags up on bream

It is an ill-wind that blows no-one any good. And that was so in Sunday's Lodge match as Bob Gale came up smelling, if not of roses, at least reeking of bream.

Several cold, breezy nights in a row meant that most entrants in MKAA's 'club-get-together' were lucky to get so much as a bite from fish sulking from their first taste of winter.

But, pegged on a bream shoal, 'Super-star' was in a world of his own, netting 12 slabs on feeder for a runaway 55-4 win!

For everyone else it was ultra dire, and the best of the rest turned out to be Paul Hamilton with just 2-4, followed by Paul Chapman on a bare 2lb...

JUST before the mercury started falling, Phil Mapp had a ball on Willen netting a 22-10 mirror and commons of 23lb, 22lb and 21lb – all in 14 hours. Alex Perks, reporting through Waters Edge, had a 29-6 from Heron.

DADS and lads are still having great fun with Ashlands' 'mini-carp' despite the falling temperatures.

LEIGHTON Buzzard's Furzton match saw Dave Gibson win with 24-6 – three small carp, some skimmers and roach on feeder. John Stutly had 16lb of skimmers on waggler and Brian Wright 11lb of roach.

Just along the bank Lliam Willis topped Abbey Lads' do in B section with 11-1 of roach. Dave Whillock had 10-10 and Seth Marsh 10-6.

OLNEY lad Pete Hawley won Kempston's Ouse open with 19-5 of silvers while Nigel Porter included three 1lb+ barbel in his 11-15. Paul Caton had 11-2.

KINGFISHER, Alders Farm: Robin Lett 76-3, Dean Warren 69-14, Dick Peerless 59-6.

TOWCESTER Vets, Dog Lane: Graham Martin 52-3, John Balhatchett 33-9, Chris Howard 29-7.

MK Vets, Mill Road canal, 31 fished: Ernie Sattler 7-2, Mick Sutton 6-14, Dave McLlennan 5-13.
