Bucks hit the ground running in Division 3

Newly promoted Bucks County Darts team produced a glorious away display to defeat Gloucester 22-14 over the weekend, to go second of Division 3.

Bucks opened the season for the two-day event, which saw their ladies and mens A & B teams led by their respective managers Carol Hodgson and newly appointed Tony Hill take to the oche. Ann Wakefield was the standout performer for Bucks ladies B team coming from 2-0 down to win 3-2 with a good 16.23 average.

There were also good wins from Jane Sobey, Lorraine Hodges, Gerry Johnson and Amanda Kuling, to make the score 5-1.

Paul Orchard was the mens B player of the match winning 3-0 with an excellent 25.47 average, including 2x18 dart legs, with 117 and 105 check outs.

Robert Dell, Ron Grant, Jack Vincent, Kevin Locke and Jack Neary also won well, to make the score 11-7 to Bucks at the halfway stage.

Sunday saw Bucks A teams get involved and the momentum continued as the lady team won 4-2 to make the score 15-9 going into the final round of matches.

Recent England Ladies Match play Single Champion Fallon Sherrock was the standout performer not only in the Bucks ladies A team but posted the highest average in the contest over the weekend with a fantastic 27.83 average winning 3-0 in 16, 21 and 17 dart legs.

There were also great wins from Sarah-Louise Mallott, Felicia Blay and Kirsty Gibbs.

The final round of matches saw the mens A teams get involved and Michael Burgoine was man of the match winning 4-3, with an excellent 26.52 average.

There were also excellent wins from Sam Ridgway, Mark Boardman, Mat Caste, Clive Wilford, Jon Woodbridge who hit a brilliant 12 dart leg with 121 check out and Steve Reed, to make the score 7-5 and secure a brilliant overall 22-14 victory.

Bucks next game will be home to Merseyside on October 13-14 at Wing & Sports Social Club.
