The Oly Cats development squad clawed back a half-time deficit to record a 35-29 victory over Lincoln on Saturday, moving them to the summit of the Midlands Men Regional Development League.
A physical Lincoln side made things tough for the youngsters and, despite a fine attacking display from the visitors, the hosts battled their way into a one-goal lead when the half-time whistle blew.
However, White called upon his more senior players to steady the ship, and they obliged with a strong second-period performance that ensured Oly Cats turned the game on its head, eventually pulling away to a six-goal victory.
Victory took Oly Cats to the top of the table, leading Loughborough and Warwick by two and four points respectively.
“It was probably our best attacking display of the season in the first half,” said White. “And the senior players came on for the second period and built on that, and we took complete control to pull away in the end.”
