Chloe has big ambitions

Goudie proved her potential in 2014 when she won the Cable Wakeboarding World Championships junior title.

Last year the 20-year-old then stepped up to the senior level and with the experience under her belt, she is now targeting impressive performances at the European Championships in September in Tel Aviv and November’s World Championships, which takes places in Xoxocotla, Mexico.

“I definitely plan to go to all of the national and the international events possible this year,” said Goudie, who benefits from being a part of the SSE Next Generation programme.

“The Europeans are in Israel this year so I’m aiming to go along to that and then the World’s are right at the end of the year in Mexico, so that would be cool to go to.

“I would like to get in to the top five of the Europeans and the Worlds this year.

“The transition from junior to senior is quite a big leap. It’s an open category so as long as you’re good enough you can compete.

Goudie works at WakeMK, a cable wakeboarding centre located at Willen Lake, and has been putting in the hours in the hope of enhancing her sporting career.

“I’m confident this year,” she added. “I just focussed a lot on working so that I could have the time off to go to the competitions [this year] but then that meant I didn’t have as much time to train.

“I have a better plan for this year which should help me performance wise.”
