Milton Keynes continued to edge their way towards promotion with a crushing 51-10 win over Chesham on Saturday.

With top slot unlikely to happen they hold a strong position in second but it is still possible for third placed Tadley to get past them, with the sides locking horns next week.

Chesham came to Emerson Valley and a good performance was needed from MK, with their opposition on a four-match winning streak and full of confidence.

City didn’t get off to the best of starts with Chesham dominating territory and possession for the first opening skirmishes which resulted in a penalty and 3 points for them. This was the spur that MK needed and they started to exercise some control of the game and they never looked back from that point on.

First half tries from Rob Matthews, Dan Pearson and Scott Aspinall together with a penalty and a conversion from Brian Purcell saw MK with a 25-3 lead.

The second half saw City push on with the scoring with tries from Dave Brown, Scott Aspinall (3), two conversions from Michael Dean and another from Purcell. Chesham did cross the city line for a converted try, but MK ended up comfortable winners 51-10.
