City riders hit the streets
Riders were out in force all over Milton Keynes over the weekend, competing in various club events.
A cold and foggy morning met with the eight riders turning out for the second event in the North Bucks Time Trial league on the Stony Stratford course, with the decision to run the event only being taken at 8.45am.
James Richardson from NBRC claimed 1st place completing the 11.4 mile course in a stellar time of 28mins 57secs, followed by club mate David Price at 29mins 32secs. Lindz Barral of Equipe Velo took third with a time of 29mins 52secs. Full results are available on the North Bucks Road Club website.
Elsewhere, the Central Road Race League returned with the Spring Chicken event taking place on the Claydons circuit. A crash on the 2nd lap threatened to split the peloton, but most riders were able to make their way back on to the lead group. Tom Sefton of RP Vision Racing took the win, from Joshua Crow-Stewart (Hemel Hempstead CC) and Steve James (High Wycombe Cycling Club) claimed third place. Highest placed rider for an MK based team was Alexander Woods (Team Corley Cycles).
Finally, the second race in the National Bowl spring series saw a good turn out in the age category races from MK clubs. Results for the individual races are available on the British Cycling website.
