The Concrete Cows have qualified for The Heartland Series 2014 national roller derby tournament finals.

A full eight games of roller derby will be played over two tracks; four elimination games will decide the qualifiers for the semi-final and third place play-off, and the winners of the semi-finals will go on to play for the Heartland Series 2014 cup.

The Cows’ first game will be against Gloucestershire’s Severn Roller Torrent, winners of Heartland Series 2013.

The Cows faced Severn in last year’s Western Division with Severn taking the win in a closely matched game.

Katie “The Valkyrie” Thomas, Chair of Milton Keynes Roller Derby and event organiser, said: “The Heartlands Series finals will showcase a wealth of grass roots UK roller derby talent and will be a fantastic day for fans of the sport old and new.

“It feels like the work we started in 2012 with the End of the World Series is really coming to life, especially as we look forward to British Champs next year.”
