Defeat for leaders lets Milton Keynes back in

Division 1 leaders North Crawley suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday, going down at home to Biddenham.

Gary Linton-Walls was in fine fettle for his 5-35, tearing through the Crawley order, reducing them for 187, despite the league’s top run scorer Matt Goss hitting 85 of them.

The reply started well for the reigning champions with Dean Bryce taking two early wickets, but Kyle Cunningham’s 112 not out helped Biddenham (189-6) to take a surprise win.

It allowed Milton Keynes to close the gap at the top to just six points after their nine wicket win over Thurleigh.

Smashing through the Thurleigh order at the expense of just 96 runs, Sam Hagger hit an unbeaten 54 to help MK (100-1) to an easy win.

New City (247-9) batted bravely to hold on for a draw against Elstow (284-5), MK City (181) remain bottom after losing to Eaton Bray (235-4) while New Bradwell (124) were hammered by Buckland & Aston Clinton who rattled off the score in less than 12 overs.

In Division 2, Eggington Foresters sit atop the table after five games with a comprehensive 73 run win over Old Bradwell. Naveed Ahmed’s 55 put the visitors in charge as they scored 210-7. In reply, Old Bradwell were skittled for 137.

Eggs are 11 points clear of Aspley Guise (249-4)in second after they could only draw with Milton Bryan (203-7).

Cranfield Uni (162) lost to Bromham (201-8), Olney (87-5) made light work of Newport Pagnell (83) and North Crawley 2nds (137-7) beat Stoke Hammond (136-9).

First met second in Division 3, and it was leaders Printers who came out on top against Westcroft with a winning draw.

Razzan Mohamed’s 71 helped Printers to a light-looking 189-9. But it proved to be enough as Westcroft struggled to score quickly, ending on 131-7.

Muhammed Furqan hit 112 for Open University (263-4) as they eased to victory over Ivinghoe & Pitstone (133), while Shenley Church End (238-5) beat Tring Park 4ths (237-5) in a nail-biter to the end.

In Division 5, Great Brickhill 3rds (229-9) are top after beating MK City 2nds (76), New Bradwell 2nds (201) drew with Elstow 2nds (194-6) and North Crawley 3rds (59) lost to St Andrews (62-3).
