Great Brickhill keep up the pressure as 2nds cut it fine

Graeme Carter’s men showed no mercy to the visitors to Rotten Row, crusing to a quick-time victory by seven wickets.
Ahad Khan and Arjun Jhala quickly tore through the Twyford openers, who were toiling on 19-5.

Hide AdTwyford’s stumbling innings didn’t really get going after their early demise, and George Humphries chipped in with 4-49 as the visitors were bowled out for 120.

And despite losing three wickets along the way, Great Brickhill never looked in trouble as they rattled through the runs in 18.1 overs, with opener Nick Cadman top scoring with 34, while Doug Aris was 33 not out at the close.
The result ensures Great Brickhill will finish second in the table, and will travel to lowly Tiddington on the final day of the season next weekend.
Great Brickhill 2nds remain on coure to seal the Division 4 title though after their narrow three run victory over Brackley. In a low scoring affair, the 2nds would have been sweating on their total as their order failed to really fire.

Hide AdOpening bat Marcus Critchley top scored on 42, but only he and number 10 Julian Blackwell (28 not out) really got going as six hit single figures.
It meant their bowlers would need something special to defend the 139-9 total they set.
But it’s exactly what they did, with Hamid Miah taking control with the ball.
Blackwell dealt with the two openers with ease, before Miah (4-57) ripped through the middle order to ensure a tight finish. With Brackley edging closer and closer to the finishing line, they came up dramatically short on 136.
Brickhill lead by 22 points with a game against title rivals Tiddington 2nds remaining.
