Stony Stratford are just two points off the bottom of the Northants Premier Division after a stunning show from Finedon’s Will Sneath.
The bowler took an incredible 8-42 in the crushing eight wicket defeat at Avenue Road.
Last week, Stony win over Old Northamptonians moved them off the foot of the table and up to eighth, but this weekend’s defeat sees them back down to 11th, just two points above Wollaston at the foot of the pack.
Sneath started like a house on fire for Finedon, taking care of five of the opening six batsmen for single figures.
Arvind Ramesh, batting at three, was unbeaten on 32 as partners came and went as quick as Sneath could send them packing back to the pavilion.
Only Kamran Anwar and Stephen Richardson made it into double figures for Stony - both making 12 as the visitors were skittled for 71.
Working with a neigh on impossible total to defend, Jamie Baxter did his best by taking 2-22, removing opener Sean Davis and his replacement Greg Evans, but it simply wasn’t enough to prevent the inevitable as Finedon (72-2) cruised to victory.
And with four games to go, it is still all to play for at the bottom of the table, with Stony Stratford hosting Geddington next Saturday at Campbell Park.
