Half centuries from Praveen Chandran and Wesley Fernando helped Stony Stratford ease to victory over Geddington as they edged towards Premier Division safety.
Chandran, at the top of the order, gave Stony a strong start by firing off 54, while Fernando chipped in with 50 of his own batting from five as Stony posted a solid 236-9, though Marcus Knight’s impressive 4-46 threatened to undo their good work in the middle order.
In reply, Geddington never really threatened Stony’s total. Kamran Anwar was the star for the home side as he too took four wickets as the visitors stuttered through their overs.
Stephen Richardson (2-5) took care of the tail end as Geddington were 136 all out, giving Stony the lion share of the points.
The win sees them lift up to 10th in the table, now 32 points from the relegation zone.
