Wolverton finished second in Cherwell League Division 1 with an uncomfortable win over Twyford on the final day.

Jude Ramanadanpulle’s fine spell of 4-37 restricted the visitors to 163-9, but the drama was yet to come.

A disastrous top order collapse left Wolves 43-7 but a winning partnership between Zak Wade (51 not out) and Shahzad Mohammed (50) got Wolverton (166-8) home by two wickets and guaranteed runners-up spot behind Buckingham.

Batting first, Brickhill got off to a solid start with opener Anton De Beer making 58 and being well supported by Michael Baker (29). Doug Aris then continued his fine form as he finished the season with 51 as Brickhill posted 216-8.

In reply, Downs struggled to keep up with the run rate but showing little desire to attempt to chase down the total, Downs eventually finished on 157-9 for a losing draw.
