A new cycling store will open in Milton Keynes on today.
GO Outdoors, the UK’s largest retailer of outdoor equipment and clothing, has chosen Milton Keynes for its first dedicated cycling shop.
The firm has spent £125,000 in the project. which is set within the existing GO Outdoors store in Central Retail Park. The shop will provide a comprehensive service for recreational cyclists, commuters and families, as well as club and sportive riders.
Barry Dunn, head of cycling at GO Outdoors, said: “The British public has never been more focused on cycling than it is today. Sustained success for British cyclists at the Beijing and London Olympics, a first British Tour de France winner in Bradley Wiggins in 2012 and of course this year’s Grand Départ in Yorkshire have all combined bringing things to fever pitch.
“With more and more people being inspired to ride at all levels, from participation in sportives to more leisurely family days out as well as commuting, it is clearly an area of increasing importance for GO Outdoors.
“This new cycling store is a logical step for the business as it continues to grow and will be followed by a number of similar developments at selected stores across the country.”
