The National Bowl played host to the second round of the Central Cyclocross League at the weekend.
Hosted by CC Luton, the excellent course (designed by Mike Jackson) was fast flowing and technical.
The sun stayed out for the first couple of hours of racing and delivered good results for local racers (results up to U16's) but as the novices took to the course the true 'cross weather began to roll in.
The rain made racing more technical for the veteran men and the long technical hill became the favourite spectating spot delivering plenty of spills!
Grant Hughes finished in 6th place for TMK in the vet 50 men's race, but it was the ladies at TMK dominated the racing but were unable to stop Fran Whyte (BMCC) taking the lead of the race overall.
The team finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th in the Vet women's race and senior results were similar with TMK taking 2nd 3rd and 6th and 9th senior ladies places.
But the heavens opened for the start of the senior men's race (picture attached) making conditions even more interesting. Local riders Gavin Howell from Team MK came 6th and Graham Knight (Equipe Velo) came 8th.
Round 3 is at stanbridge park in Hemel Hempstead.
