Dan Webber leads the way for MK
The Maidenhead 10 mile road race had been held on Good Friday for over 40 years and this year produced some good performances from the MK contingent.

Hide AdFrom a field of over 800 runners, Dan Webber led them home, 21st with a personal best of 57.53 whilst his sister, Wendy also ran a PB (by almost 3minutes) recording 63.48 and third in the F35 age group.
Gary Blaber was close on Dan’s heels, yet another PB, 22nd overall and 6th M40 in 58.00. Tom Comerford, like his team mates, was using the race as part of the build-up for the London Marathon, came through strongly to place 25ht in 58.11.
Andrew Wasdell made the top 100, running a time of 64.28 for 96th position whilst Karen Tincknell was just down on her PB, as she finished in 88.06.

Hide AdIn contrast to the more sublime weather of Friday, Natasha Baker rain through the sodden conditions on Saturday at the Cardiff Half Marathon but still ran a personal best of 89.38 and moved to no15 in the club rankings for this distance.
Steve Herring finished 8th at the Stanwick 10km (near Rushden) with a time of 35.63 and 3rd M40.
Another annual Good Friday fixture is the early season track and field meeting. There were no less than 40 MMKAC athletes competing, mainly under 20’s but also a mix of seniors.

Hide AdFrom this, 42 personal bests were set, many athletes contesting more than one event. The highlight of the day was a huge hammer throw of 54.11m by Kayleigh Presswell, only 56cm off her club record. Paige Barnes (F20) threw 37.14m and there was a PB of 34.62m by Jasmine Trapnell (F15).
Across the wide range of events best MMKAC male performances were: 100m-Maxwell Brown (M17) – 11.2; 200m-Harriosn Reed(M15)-25.4; 400/800m-Ewan Forsythe (M17)-58.5/2.07.0; 1500m-Brian Sayle (M15)-4.48.3; 3000m-Robert Hickman (M15)-9.58.1 and Long jump-Kobe Sinclair-Linton (M11)-3.81m.
For the ladies: 100m-Tia Margan (F17)-13.5; 200m/300m -Enya Deysel (F17)-29.2/46.3; 800m-Sophie Botham (F20)-2.24.7; 1500m-Charlotte Underwood (F13)-5.20.9; Long Jump-Amber Evans (F17)-4.53m; 70mHurdles-Charlotte Underwood (F13)-13.4 and 75m Hurdles-Mia Sloman (F15)-15.7.
