Dragon Boat racing returned to Caldecotte lake on Saturday, with Secklow Hundred racing at their home regatta.

In front of a great crowd, 25 teams raced the 200m course up the lake, with a chance to lift MK’s infamous Concrete Cow statues.

Conditions were tough though, and both Secklow Hundred and Secks Appeal struggled to hear the starter.

Secklow Hundred had to settle for 12thplace overall.

In the 500m, the winners were Amathus with time of 2m02s, with Secklow Hundred setting a creditable time of 2:09.

The Secks Appeal crew set a time of 2m22s but they did come second in their category, which ment they came second overall won a trophy.

Unfortunately, the torrential rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon put paid to any chances of the ladies and juniors from competing on the lake, much to the disappointment of everyone involved.

The club are always keen for new members or sponsors. To join the club or if you want to give it a try , training is at Caldecotte lake on Sundays at 11am and Thursdays at 6pm.
