Planners of Milton Keynes Marathon have taken pity on athletes set to compete next year by introducing a flatter, less hilly route for the race in 2016.
After listening to feedback, organisers have drawn out a new 26.2 mile course, and a half marathon route ahead of the race on May 2 next year.
A spokesman said: “The new route is a lot flatter, much more scenic and includes numerous beautiful lakes, picturesque parks and the meandering Grand Union Canal.
“And of course, as you would expect, the route takes in the famous Concrete Cows.”
