Agard knows Dons will overcome home frustrations

Agard, Dons' record signing in the summer, scored the second at Boundary Park to see off Oldham in a 2-0 win on Saturday as Dons picked up their second away win in seven days.

But without a win at Stadium MK in nearly seven months, Agard believes his team-mates must continue to approach every game in the same way to get their luck to change.

He said: "We can't put our finger on it, but we've got to approach everything the same way, I'm sure it will change.

"It's frustrating but the gaffer keeps on at us to work hard. We're all behind that, we know it will change. Sometimes you get that bit of luck."

Agard scored his third of the season in a scrappy game against Oldham, getting a flick on Samir Carruthers' free kick to double Dons' lead after Ben Reeves somewhat fortunate opener squirmed under keeper Connor Ripley in the first half.

The former Bristol City man could have had another though, and admitted he felt his strike, which cannoned off the bar from 12 yards, was his second of the afternoon.

"I love scoring goals, but I'm more happy we got the win," he said. "I could have had another - it was close!

"I gave Reevesy a shout, and I think it got a little deflection which took it on to the bar. I thought it was in - I was wheeling away! But it wasn't meant to be, but we got the three points."

But while Agard found his scoring boots for the first time since late August, strike partner Nicky Maynard was once again left without a goal to his name.

But Agard believes it is only a matter of time and backed Maynard to come good.

He added: "As a forward myself, I know you go through these patches. He's scoring in training, so it will come. I know it, I can see it, he's a goal-scorer."
