Ben Gladwin doesn't score taps-ins - because "I don't get in the box enough!" he says - but his goal on Boxing Day against Bristol Rovers was one to remember.

Picking the ball up from Andrew Surman, breaking towards the penalty area before unleashing an unstoppable effort into the top corner in first half stoppage time, Gladwin's third goal for MK Dons was the pick of the an already impressive bunch.

Having skidded a shot just wide earlier in the half, Gladwin said: "The first one was quite close, so I got my eye in, so when the second one went in I was buzzing with it. It was one of the first time the ball dropped to me in that area, I was pleased to see it.

"Regan (Poole) made a good run and took the guy away, if he'd have stepped to me I'd have played him in. But he didn't and I just let one go!"

Dons would go on to win the game 2-0 at Stadium MK, lifting them to 16th in the League One table, bouncing back from the disappointing defeat of seven days prior to Plymouth Argyle.

Gladwin continued: "It's good to come to football and enjoy it. It was an enjoyable day today, hopefully we can kick on and pick up some more points.

"We started well today, relieved a bit of pressure from ourselves early on by changing what we do slightly, and it worked. We got good control of the game, but even at 0-0 I always felt we were going to win that game. We looked solid defensively and gave ourselves a good base to work on. We had more chances than a 2-0 win."
